Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Ramona Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Assistant Principal of Ramona Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to help lead in a community with such persevering students and an extremely dedicated staff. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the staff, students, and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for almost a decade and have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 5th grade in various roles. I worked as a kindergarten and first-grade classroom teacher before transitioning to a literacy learning strategist for kindergarten through fifth grade. I had the opportunity to work in a role at the district office as a project facilitator before returning to California to be closer to family. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educator and leader to Ramona Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education.

My husband and I have one son, who will be two at the end of August, and two dogs. We enjoy traveling, cooking/baking, and exploring the outdoors. My husband is an educator as well and will be teaching throughout the district as a substitute teacher while he finishes his credential.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn about the uniqueness of Ramona this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to fuse my openness to learning and child-centered approach with supporting our students.

As Assistant Principal, love, kindness, and compassion will guide me in providing a safe and positive learning environment that is inclusive and equitable for all students. It is my goal to work diligently with our community to leverage partnerships and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and teachers to embrace, educate, and empower all stakeholders.

I look forward to meeting you all as we kick off an exciting new school year.

Warmly,

Dr. Scheavonna Nesheim
